Project Description

Stage 1 of the project consists of the redevelopment and expansion of the existing Core Medical Center (Children Cancer Hospital) into a new state of the art health sciences campus in Cairo, Egypt. The expansion to the existing Core Medical Center consists of two new 12 story (above grade) towers to the East and West of the existing Core Medical Center. These two towers will be connected above the existing Core Medical Center at levels 5 through the roof. Four 66000mm long transfer trusses will support the structure above the existing Core Medical Center. In addition to the expansion to the Core Medical Center, the Health Sciences Campus will be the home to an additional three towers. Both the Smart Building and the new Outpatient Center will be comprised of 13 stories above grade, while the new Research
Institute building will be 7 stories above grade.
The typical floor to floor heights are as follows:
• Core Medical Center Expansion: 4250 mm
• Smart Building: 3750 mm
• Outpatient Center: 4250 mm
