Project Description
IETC was the Clients Representative/Project Engineer on a green field site for a Hot Strip Mill Project in Ain Sukhna producing steel coils and flat products up to 1.2 million tons per year. IETC started work on this project (at its start) in May 1999, working as sub-consultant to Kaiser Engineers Ltd. IETC task was to review the structural main foundations for the steel buildings which include the Melt shop, Hot Strip Mill, Coil Storage Area, Central Workshop and the Scrap Yard. Our structural review grew to encompass the structural steel, technological machine foundations and technological areas, which required complete coordination of mechanical, electrical and HVAC design aspects. This later extended to include the review of any concrete structure on the project.
Our staff grew and was requested to:
- Respond to RFIs, RFMs and RMAs;
- Solving the various construction queries on site;
- Quantity surveying;
- Claim resolution according to local laws and the FIDIC laws.
